The mission of the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation (“The Foundation”) is to create a world-class performing arts center, that enriches the community, supports arts education, and inspires young minds.
The Foundation is partnering with the City of Sarasota, other regional municipalities, private philanthropists and foundations to build and operate what will be the performing arts centerpiece of Sarasota and the entire Gulf Coast region. The new performing arts center will be a public-private-partnership in which the City of Sarasota and the Foundation will be the principal participants. Completing the project – construction, operations and programming – will require funding of more than $275 million, of which 50% is anticipated to be raised from philanthropic sources.

Position Summary:
The Foundation is seeking a hands-on Creative & Multimedia Specialist to amplify our visual identity and elevate our content. This person should have a passion for performing arts, social media, marketing, and events, and will create and manage visual and interactive content for various print and digital projects. This includes designing graphics, videos, animations, and other multimedia elements, ensuring they align with brand standards and support project goals. This position will also maintain the Foundation’s Digital Asset Management system and support the design and visual consistency of the Foundation’s website by providing graphic and layout recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) to create and edit visual and multimedia content for print and digital.
Develop videos, animations, interactive elements, original graphics, and audio for presentations, websites, and print materials.
Ensure all multimedia content aligns with the organization's branding and messaging guidelines.
Work independently to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.
Capture and edit high quality photos and video content.
Work with external vendors and internal departments such as Development, Mission & Impact, Finance and Operations to develop content and ensure consistency.
Provide technical support for multimedia-related issues and maintain equipment and software.
Keep up with the latest multimedia technologies, trends, and best practices.
Develop storyboards and concept designs.
Ensure media elements are accessible and meet usability standards.
Create and update existing templates for presentations, newsletters, or social media posts, etc.
Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Director of Communications to ensure consistency in brand aesthetics across all design elements, including fonts, colors, logos, and imagery.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, SharePoint).
Proven ability to work and participate in a team atmosphere.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, engaging, and grammatically correct copy for various mediums.
Strong project and time management skills.
Capable of conducting thorough research on topics to create accurate, informed, and credible content.
Comfortable using AI-driven content or design tools to support ideation, drafting, and production.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of professional experience in graphic design and video production (nonprofit or arts experience a plus) with a strong portfolio.
Advanced proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Strong visual design and typography skills; motion graphics experience a plus.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Ability to work occasionally nights and weekends; complete projects independently, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Position Status:
This is an exempt full-time position. Generally, the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may be adjusted as needed. This is a hybrid position with the mandatory on-site hours three days a week and the ability to work remotely. Please note, this is subject to change to full-time on-site hours.
