Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation Invites Families to Celebrate the New School Year

Free community event on August 29 will provide complimentary books and art supplies

Sarasota, Florida – July 28, 2026 – Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation is inviting families to kick off the school year with creativity, imagination and community during Imagination Installation: A Family Celebration of Arts and Learning on Saturday, August 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Harvest House Family Center, 3650 17th St., Sarasota.

Designed for families with children in PreK through fifth grade, but open to all ages and abilities, the free event will feature hands-on art activities, music and dancing, along with complimentary books and art supplies to help inspire creativity long after the celebration ends.

The event celebrates the important role the arts play in helping children learn, build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and express themselves both in and out of the classroom.

"Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their creativity and experience the joy that comes from making art," said Kelli Maldonado, Executive Director of Mission and Impact for Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation. "Imagination Installation is about giving families the tools and inspiration to continue creating together while reinforcing that the arts are an essential part of every child's education and future success."
